Blocked downpipes from street-tree leaf drop
Why it happens here
The streets around the Derrimut Road area and the Wyndham Cultural Centre have mature trees that drop leaves straight onto roofs. The leaves wash into gutters, compact at the downpipe outlet and form a plug that stops water flowing. It happens within weeks of a clean in autumn.
Our approach
We clear the downpipe outlet first on every job, then work back along the gutter run. That way we know the water has somewhere to go. We flush the line with a pressure washer and check flow with a camera before finishing.
